Hi everybody!
I grew up in Madison, WI before moving to Minneapolis to attend the University of Minnesota. There, I received a B.A. in English Language Arts: Creative Writing; a B.F.A in Art: Drawing and Painting; and later, an M.Ed in Art Education. I have spent most of my life making art and working with children. During my teens and early twenties I worked as a camp counselor and camp director. After college I worked as a non-profit youth director before going back to school for my teaching license. I have worked in after school programs and have taught professionally for seven years. Prior to Chippewa Middle School I worked for Minneapolis Public Schools at Heritage Academy of Science and Technology teaching middle school art and high school digital art, as well as Northeast Middle school where I taught IB Design. When not teaching I enjoy attending live music; biking; farmers markets; going to art galleries; playing boardgames; pickup ultimate frisbee; and traveling. |
